The Centre for Health Education & Vulnerable Support (CHEVS) is a youth-led organisation that focuses on educating, empowering and improving young people of minority groups. The Tech4Pride program will focus on educating and empowering young persons living in Nigeria, from Novice to Intermediates, ushering them an opportunity to kickstart a career in Tech, for a period of 8-10 weeks.
MAIN FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Design and develop course curriculum, course handouts, lectures, presentations and projects
Exhibit a high level of expertise in the skill taught and stimulate enthusiasm for those subjects.
Ensure each lecture/class/presentation/project contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.
Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records.
Conduct class evaluations and complete other evaluations in accordance with organisation policy (assignments, tests, and examinations)
Ensure assigned training classes are held as scheduled.
Record class attendance and report the records to CHEVS after every lecture.
Ensure that the Learning Management System (LMS) provided by the Organisation is used.
Make suggestions to the Organisation concerning the improvement of the curriculum in keeping with the objectives of the Project
Participate in program and curriculum review, development and Mentee’s learning outcome initiatives
GENERAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching/Mentorship
Conduct training/teaching and professional development programs in assigned skills that will support the objectives of the Organisation;
Facilitate trainee learning, provide effective instruction, and perform evaluations of trainee, learning for all assigned/ad hoc classes/sessions;
Participate in program level learning assessment including helping articulate learning outcomes, choosing and administering measures, evaluating trainee performance, and suggesting changes to improve trainee learning;
Develop and deploy teaching-learning materials in the area of expertise.
Curriculum Design & Development
Conduct timely and periodic review of curriculum materials based on program needs.
Develop and evaluate short terms, long-terms and flagship curriculum to ensure facilitation and promotion of quality education and excellence in the training and learning of assigned skills.
Provide professional advice and expertise to the pool of resource persons/ trainers in the assessment of the programs, preparing lectures etc.
Work with internal as well as external M&E officers to analyse the feedback/comments and identify the gaps of the Project to improve/develop a better project (Tech4Pride 2.0).
Stay current in technological or pedagogical advances that promote trainee learning.
Work with other Tutors/Mentors in developing program curriculum, standards and policies, including reviewing and participating in projects selection process where appropriate.
Represent and promote the organisation externally – nationally and internationally – for the duration of the contract.

Ability to teach analytical skills, listen and be open to multiple views, perspectives, and feedback.
